After all the various feedbacks from our valued users, we have decided to scrap the RM1/month fee (which we charge when you follow unlimited users or communities).
When we first introduced Pacmee, users are charged RM0.25 per month whenever they follow someone. So, if you follow 10 friends, then you will be charged RM0.25 x 10 = RM2.50 per month.
Later on, we scrapped the RM0.25 per month charging in favour of the RM1 per month charging (whereby you can follow unlimited friends) .
Now, we are going up step further AND offering you something even better! Begining 11 August 2008, we have scrapped the RM1 per month charging. So, it is totally FREE for you to follow friends now. And, you can follow as many as you want.
Its FREE and its UNLIMITED!
What else can you ask for? Didn’t we always say we have you in our mind and heart all the time?
We have been hard at work adding new features to Pacmee these last couple of weeks. And finally today, we are proud to announce that these new features have finally ‘graduated’ from our internal alpha test.
Direct Messages
We have given more control over direct messages to you, our users. Now, you can select how you want to be contacted via direct messages on the phone as well as how the direct messages to you will be displayed on our website.
To get there:
- Select MySettings from the menu at the top.

- Select the “Privacy” tab. The new options are there.

Featured Users
Our featured users section have also received some new updates. Featured users are now divided in to 2 categories: Featured persons and featured communities. We have also added some AJAX magic to make the featured users’ profile a little bit more eye catching.
Posting Shoutouts
Our more keen users would have noticed that recently we’ve allowed much longer shoutouts (ie shoutouts over 2 sms) but our site have yet to be updated to follow suit. Well, we have finally gotten to updating that on our website as well and now you can send long shoutouts from the web as well.
Speaking of shoutouts, we have also updated our characters left counter in the post shoutout page to support unicode characters. Now when you are posting in Chinese the characters counter will accurately show how many characters are left.
Look and Feel
We also made minor changes to the look and feel of our site mainly to the login section as well as the menu you see at the top of each page.
That’s all for now. Another set of new features are being worked on this very moment. Be prepared to be amazed in the near future. Meanwhile, feel free to drop your comments here. We at Pacmee would love to hear what you guys have to say.
We’ve finally got a weblog!!!
Expect news about Pacmee related updates and events here.
We have designed Shoutout in the three main languages used in Malaysia, which are English, Malay and Mandarin. All you have to do is just choose your preferred language. To do that, go to the Account tab under the MySettings page and select the language from the drop box.
Pacmee.com beta version will be officially launched to the public in August. We are all very excited to have many enthusiatic beta testers, which includes some well-known celebrities.
