Another item off our to-do list

A re-design of Pacmee is long overdue but finally we’ve gotten this out the door today. We’re planning for a major re-design next (rather than a change of ’skin’ like the current one). Do leave us some feedback on what you’ll like to see changed, removed or added in the next iteration.

After all the various feedbacks from our valued users, we have decided to scrap the RM1/month fee (which we charge when you follow unlimited users or communities).

When we first introduced Pacmee, users are charged RM0.25 per month whenever they follow someone. So, if you follow 10 friends, then you will be charged RM0.25 x 10 = RM2.50 per month.

Later on, we scrapped the RM0.25 per month charging in favour of the RM1 per month charging (whereby you can follow unlimited friends) .

Now, we are going up step further AND offering you something even better! Begining 11 August 2008, we have scrapped the RM1 per month charging. So, it is totally FREE for you to follow friends now. And, you can follow as many as you want.

Its FREE and its UNLIMITED!

What else can you ask for? Didn’t we always say we have you in our mind and heart all the time?

We’ve added new settings for premium communities. Now you can control how your messages are being shown or not shown on the web.

Right now you can do the following

all messages are for public viewing
all messages are for private viewing
all messages are public after 48 hours
all messages are public within the first 48 hours

We’ll be introducing another one more setting in the coming days.

We’ve just added another 2 new widgets. They are essentially the same as the 2 pre-existing widget, the only difference being that these 2 are much bigger and hence much better if you want people to be able to see the pictures you sent with much more clarity.

We’ve heard your complaints about the previous design and we’ve listed that down in our to do list. Today we’ve finally gotten to changing how our badge look.

On a side note, the long widget will be retired soon as we’ve outgrown the design the moment we introduced mms messages.

We are glad to announce to you that Pacmee Premium Community is now in beta!!!

Pacmee had been offline for the last couple of hours due to a DOS attack on our data center. We are now in the midst of working this out with the staff there.

We are still unsure when it will be up again. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Sending multiple photos in one MMS shoutout

Too many photos to share with your followers and dont want to ’spam’ them with too many shoutouts? Recently, we have upgraded our system to allow you to attach multiple photos in one single message and send the message via MMS to all your followers. You can attach and send up to 5 photos in one MMS. When your followers receive your shoutout, they can then download the MMS with all your photos inside directly on to their mobile phones. You can send the MMS from both your mobile phone and the Pacmee website.

(1) After signing in, click on the red POST button

(2) Click on the ‘MMS’ icon if you want to send texphoto shoutout

(3) Click on ‘Browse’ button. Select your photo one at a time. You can choose up to 5 photos. When done, click on the ‘Upload’ button.

(4) Fill in the your text comments for each photo. When done, click the red POST button. All your followers will receive your shoutout asking them to download your MMS (with all your photos inside)

In a nutshell, photo shoutout via MMS has become more fun and more affordable. Isn’t it wonderful?

Website and wap site offline

For our users who had difficulty accessing our site earlier (from about 12am - 4am), we apologize for the inconvenience as our website and mobile website went offline as the updates were being applied.

When a thousand words are just not enough…

People say a picture is worth a thousand words. But sometimes a picture is just not enough to convey that important moment, so with that in mind we’ve launched multiple image MMS shoutouts today.

A new look for the mobile web site

I am sure that our mobile website users would have noticed that in the past couple of months since MMS shoutouts was launched, we’ve not updated our mobile website to show the MMS shoutouts that are being sent. We apologize for that delay but fret no further as we’ve also rolled out a new mobile website today. Now you can see all the MMS shoutouts on the go from your mobile phone.
